Men's Ministry
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Prov. 27:17
The purpose of our men's ministry is to help each other become more and more fully alive in Christ and be faithful and fruitful in what God has called us to. Life has its challenges and we are better together!
"Research shows most men over 30 have no close friends." George Gallup
At GPC, we want to challenge that statistic!
Proverbs 18:24 says, "A man of many companions (casual buddies) may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." We desire to provide opportunities for men to develop much needed friendships for support, encouragement, & accountability.
The following are opportunities to get involved...
Men's small groups: Along with our couples and mixed groups, our men's groups provide opportunities for guys to develop friendships and help each other grow. We offer three men's groups that meet at various times to check out. One meets on Wednesday mornings at 6:30am, one meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm and one meets on Saturday mornings at 6:30am.
Quarterly Men's Events: Each quarter, our men's ministry sponsors an 'all guys' event either on Saturday morning or a specified evening during the week. These events help us meet other guys outside of our normal groups and activities. We typically invite a special speaker to come share their story with us.
Men's 1-2-1 discipleship: If you're interested in meeting with another guy to go over the basics of the Christian life, we encourage you to take advantage of this discipleship opportunity. You will typically meet about six times with your mentor as he gets to know you and shares with you the essentials regarding the Bible and how to grow stronger in your walk with God.
Annual Retreats: Along with our small groups and quarterly events, each fall we host an annual retreat to get away for some rest and renewal with other men. We usually go to one of the local retreat spots about 1-2 hours away from our church campus for the weekend.
Raising Up The Next Generation: As men, we want to play an active role in the development of our sons and daughters as they develop into young men and women. We offer a study for men to help equip them to play an active role in leading their children into adulthood. This includes providing the tools to create lasting memories with our kids through important celebrations along the way.
Sports and Recreation Opportunities: All guys need to find something that is just plain fun. We desire the men of GPC to have opportunities to connect with other men with similar recreational interests. It if it fun for you, there are other guys that would like it too!
If you are interested in one or more of the above, let us know! Let's help each other build stronger relationships with God and other men.
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:23-24
